A great group of COC’ers made for a really enjoyable evening of indoor soccer at the Calgary Soccer Centre tonight! Once again it was another hard fought battle between the Mighty Blue & Gold for COC soccer supremacy! Gold started out strong and held their ground throughout the match defeating Blue by a convincing 10-6 margin. It was a well played game by both sides including some impressive performances by several new comers. Afterwards many of us stopped in at the soccer centre pub for some food and drinks before heading home. As usual a great time was had by all! Congratulations Gold on your well deserved victory.
Tonight's "Player of the Game" award was presented immediately following the game to Gerard D’Mello, who joined the club back in the spring of 2008 and has been a regular attendee of COC sporting events ever since, including basketball, kick ball and of course soccer. Gerard is a very skilled player who always looks to include his fellow teammates in the play. He is a very friendly and approachable guy who consistently demonstrates great sportsmanship on and off the field. It has been a real pleasure getting to know him through the many COC events we have shared together and I look forward to many more. Congratulations on your award Gerard, you deserve it!
