A great group of COC’ers made their way to the Subway Soccer centre tonight for another fun filled evening of indoor soccer. We were treated to a nice early start time and even granted early access to the field. The game remained close well into the second frame before Gold began to pull away. With solid goaltending by Brian, Chelsea and Scott, the Gold team made life miserable for Blue, who for the most part, was unable to gain any momentum. Although the action was fairly even at both ends, Blue was fighting the ball all night and had trouble keeping it out of their own net. When it was all said and done Gold managed to squeak out a 14-5 victory LOL
Afterwards, we all gathered upstairs in the soccer centre pub to celebrate another fun evening and recognize Chris Scutchings on attending his milestone 100th COC event. We presented Chris with a cake decorated with several photos of him attending various events over the past year (see the attached photo album). As usual it was a very enjoyable evening and despite the lopsided score, a ton of fun was had by all. Congratulations everyone on a well played match.
Tonight's "Player of the Game" award was presented immediately following the game to Chris Scutchings, who has been attending COC events regularly since joining the club back in the fall of 2008. Chris is a very entertaining and fun individual who makes every event he attends that much more interesting. He participates mainly in sporting events such as volleyball, dodge ball, kickball and soccer, playing hard but always keeping the mood light. He is a team player who always demonstrates great sportsmanship and is a delight to have on any event. It has been a genuine pleasure getting to know him over the past year and a half and I look forward to sharing many more fun-filled events with him in the future. Congratulations Chris on your 100th event and well deserved award tonight!
