Another great evening of indoor soccer at the Subway Soccer Centre tonight! We welcomed first timers Joseph, Greg and Vladimir who all played very well for their respective teams. The game was a low scoring affair compared to the usual double digit scores teams typically rack up in our 100+ minute matches. After one period of play Gold had managed just one goal while Green was unable to solve Gold’s all-star rookie net minder Vladimir. In the second and third frames there was plenty of great end to end action as the lead exchanged hands several times. With just 30 seconds remaining and Gold holding on to slim 7-6 lead, Green made one final push to try and tie the game but it wasn’t meant to be as the Chiraginator came up with a big save to secure the victory for team Gold!
Tonight’s "Player of the Game" award was presented immediately following the game to Michelle Bedster, who joined the COC back in early 2007. She has attended a variety of events during that time including volleyball, ultimate, basketball, ice skating, urban hikes and of course soccer. She is a very friendly individual who always demonstrates great sportsmanship and a carefree fun attitude. Michelle played a fantastic game tonight and had many great scoring opportunities. It has been a pleasure getting to know her and I look forward to sharing many more events with her in the future. Congratulations Michelle on your well deserved award!
