Tonight we welcomed brand new club members Boodie and Jeff along with Brent K who was celebrating his 200th event with the COC. Despite being a long time member, tonight marked the first time Brent had ever attended a COC ball hockey event and as a result we thought it fitting to present him with a special “200” autographed hockey stick to help get him started in his new sporting career along with a personalized business card holder and the usual “200” celebratory ball cap. Congratulations again Brent on your milestone 200th event with the club!
Tonight’s game featured plenty of great action at both ends of the rink. There was no shortage of great plays, nice passing and even a few impressive spin-o-rama goals by Doug. Newcomer Boodie put on a clinic stopping countless shots for the green squad while Rob played equally well as he broke in our newest set of goalie equipment. In other news, the return of Lois M. who had been sidelined with a lower body injury throughout April proved to be a real boost for the Green team as she scored 3 times to earn her first hat trick of the season!
As the final few seconds of yet another 100+ minute marathon ticked off the clock, it was the Green squad who emerged victorious with a hard fought 17-12 victory thanks in part to rookie Brent K’s gritty style of play and 2 big assists on the night!
