Now that was an adventure! Nobody seemed to mind that I kinda forgot to mention that I had not done Sullivan Pass and High Rock Ridge before. Confident in navigational skills, we left the Flat Creek group at the old cabin 17 km's up that trail. From there it is about another 17km's and a bunch of climbing before we got back down to the Flat Creek trail again at the 13km mark. (Gord's GPS recorded 1400 meters of climbing.)
There were 5 of us (one was feeling rather tired and went back with Nancy's group) Great bunch to ride (and push) with. There was one I only saw walking once!
It is always great to go somewhere new - I have had this trail on my to do list for at least 10-15 years! It is not much used, but not so overgrown to make passage too difficult. Some places the trail was not real obvious, but there was some real good riding to be had too! The downhill from almost the top of High Rock Ridge back to Flat Creek was a lot of fun. It is a real fast trip down Flat Creek back to the highway.
