Sat, Oct 8 2005 - Rocky Mountain Eagle Migration Research (View Original Event Details)
|
We had a great day today weather-wise at the Mt Lorette site and also saw increased numbers of eagles compared to other outings this fall. Upon arrival, we joined up with a number of other avid eagle watchers. Eagle watching was steady, and the conversation and exchange of information stimulating.
The eagles were flying often very high and through unexpected flight paths, and we were kept us busy searching in all directions.
A summary of highlights for the day:
184 golden eagles
11 bald eagles
1 osprey
4 sharp-shinned hawks
2 northern goshawks
1 rough-legged hawk
1 broad-winged hawk
