A great workout was had by all as an usually small crowd of just 18 COC’ers attended tonight’s indoor soccer match at the Subway Soccer Centre. Despite their best efforts Blue never really had a chance with me as their goalkeeper and when the final buzzer sounded, Gold had cruised to a lopsided 12-3 victory.
Tonight’s "Player of the Game" award was presented immediately following the game to Edward Pearson, who ended up playing for both teams tonight. He put in a solid performance and demonstrated great sportsmanship throughout especially in the final frame while trying to give Blue a much needed lift. Ed joined the club less than a year ago and has already attended a wide variety of sporting events including dodge ball, ball hockey, squash, ice skating and of course soccer. He is an outgoing individual who competes hard yet keeps things friendly. It has been a pleasure sharing many events with him and I look forward to many more. Congratulations Ed on your well deserved award tonight!
After the game, many of us stuck around to enjoy a few refreshments in the soccer centre pub. Thanks to all who joined me, it was a really fun night!
