Write Up:
The day was perfect for a stroll along Johnston Canyon. A few flakes were falling as we headed up to the lower falls. Most of the falls had frozen into a beautiful shade of blue. There was snow along the pathway, but it wasn't slippery. We used our ice cleats to be sure no one would take a polar bear swim. We had lunch at the upper falls and were entertained by four ice climbers. The sky was clearing as we headed back and could clearly see the surrounding mountains, including Castle Mountain. We stopped in Canmore at the Drake on the way back. The food was very good and the fireplace took the chill out of us. We will definitely be stopping at the Drake again! Thanks to everyone who came out, it was a wonderful outting. Viola
