This was a fantastic fall outing that started with one of the coordinators dithering about the destination because of the probability of snow accumulation in the Highwood Pass area. Thankfully the other coordinator showed resolve and commitment to our original plan. After checking at the Barrier Lake Info Centre, we did a final eyeball from the Highwood Pass PL and decided the snow was not sufficient to deter us. We found boot high accumulations in the trees at some points, but as we got higher, the snow thinned out and we continued upwards over loose scree, rock and some slabs.

This is an easy, short scramble, but we agreed it was more difficult because of the conditions; it was very slippery when we walked over the snow- covered rock and grass. Several of our group demonstrated excellent falling and rolling techniques as we descended the lower part of the hike through grass and forest-covered slopes. We all agreed it was an excellent day out on a scramble well worth a do-over in summer conditions. Thanks to Ross and Egor for driving.
