Write Up:Hiking to the summit of Mt. Saint Piran today was a great kick-off to the Thanksgiving long
weekend. We left the rain showers behind in Calgary and the further west we drove, the
bluer the sky grew. We arrived early enough to secure a prime parking spot at Lake Louise
and to avoid the mass migration heading towards Lake Agnes. We found that sign with our
destination scratched out that would lead us to one of the most impressive hiker-
accessible perches in the area. We made our way along the larch-needle covered trail
through the forest then to the lightly snow-covered switchbacks and finally to the rocky-
rich summit of Mt. Saint Piran. Our visit was close to an hour and the whole time, we
enjoyed a full 100% ownership. We were fortunate and thankful for the sunshine, blue sky
and lack of wind. After dining and our group photos, we explored the top taking us to
places where the views were even more spectacular. On the return trip, we stopped off at
Lake Agnes for a visit then carried on back to the trailhead. Thank you all for sharing in
making this a wonderful day. Thank you to Peter for helping me with the driving. Andra
