Season 5 Week 10

Another great group of enthusiastic COC’ers gathered together at Vincent Massey Junior High School this evening to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! As customary, participants received their team assignment based on the playing card they randomly selected from the deck. Participants then gathered together with their fellow teammates to introduce themselves and come up with a team name. After a few minutes of bonding, team names were submitted and the quest for GOLD began with the first of 20 round robin match ups.

Each team played 10 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs. It was one of the closest races ever, as all 4 teams battled hard for top spot. When the dust settled, My Balls Your Face outmaneuvered the rest of the pack to capture first place with a 6-4 result while Green For Gold (5-5), Ballzinga (5-5) and One Ball Strong (4-6) followed right behind.

In the semi-finals, both series required exciting tie breakers to determine a winner. Top ranked My Balls Your Face held off a surging One Ball Strong to advance to the gold while second place Green For Gold got by Ballzinga 2-1 to earn a spot in the championship final.

In the medal round, Ballzinga made short work of cellar dwellers One Ball Strong to salvage a bronze, while Green For Gold outlasted My Balls Your Face to capture the gold in 3 games. Congratulations to Green For Gold on your well earned Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight!
