Season 5 Week 30

A near record crowd of 45 enthusiastic COC’ers gathered together at St Stephen Junior High School tonight to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup, and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! As customary, participants received their team assignment based on the playing card they randomly selected from the deck. Participants then gathered together with their fellow teammates to introduce themselves and come up with a team name. After a few minutes of bonding, team names were submitted and the quest for GOLD began with the first of 20 round robin match ups.

Each team played 10 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs. Grey Poupon lead the way with a solid 7-3 performance followed by Average Joe’s & Jenn’s (5-3-2), Take Down Ian (3-5-2) and last but not least, No More Mash at 3-7-0.

In the semi-finals, number one ranked Grey Pupon quickly disposed of No More Mash while Take Down Ian put up a good fight but failed to advance after losing the tie breaker to a more determined Average Joe’s & Jenn’s squad.

In the medal round, Take Down Ian found themselves in yet another tie breaker situation but this time came out on top with a thrilling 2-1 series victory over No More Mash to salvage a bronze. In other action, Grey Poupon continued their playoff dominance with a convincing 2-0 series sweep over Average Joe’s & Jenn’s to capture the gold! Congratulations Grey Poupon on your well deserved Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight! Our thoughts and prayers are with Darwin this weekend as he comes to terms with the realization he can no longer catch Ian for top spot in this season's individual medal standings.
