After a four month layoff it was nice to reconnect with everyone and enjoy a fun filled evening of COC indoor soccer at the Subway Soccer Centre tonight. The blue squad jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead leaving Gold to play catch up the rest of the evening. Despite the tough start, Gold remained positive and continued to battle hard but were unable to close the gap, eventually losing the match by a score of 15-9.
Tonight's "Player of the Game" award was presented immediately following the match to James Wigley, who put in a very solid effort resulting in a couple of key goals tonight for the Blue squad. James joined the club in early 2012 and regularly participates in the club's indoor soccer events. He always plays hard and demonstrates great sportsmanship. I have really enjoyed getting to know him over the past year and look forward to sharing many more events with him in the future. Congratulations James on your well deserved award tonight.
After the game, several of us hit BP's in Riverbend for a few drinks before heading home. Thanks to all who joined me, it was a really fun evening!
