Season 6 Week 2

Tonight we moved to Knox United Church where once again a strong turnout of 40 enthusiastic participants gathered together to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! As customary, participants received their team assignment based on the playing card they randomly selected from the deck. Participants then gathered together with their fellow teammates to introduce themselves and come up with a team name. After a few minutes of bonding, team names were submitted and the quest for GOLD began with the first of 20 round robin match ups.

Each team played 10 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs and it turned out to be one of the tightest races we've ever seen as all four teams jockeyed for position throughout. When the dust finally settled, T.G.I.F. captured top spot with a win in their final game to finish at 6-4. Following right behind at 5-5 were Darwin@eHarmony.ca and the Care Bears with the tie breaker going to Darwin@eHarmony.ca. Last but not least, Vicious Carrot Tops finished at 4-6.

In the semi-finals, the Care Bears got by a pesky Darwin@eHarmony.ca squad to advance to the gold while last place Vicious Carrot Tops upset top seeded T.G.I.F. to earn a spot in the championship final.

In the medal round, T.G.I.F. recovered quickly to salvage a bronze with an exciting 2-1 victory over Darwin@eHarmony.ca while Vicious Carrot Tops completed their perfect 4-0 playoff run with a series sweep over the Care Bears to capture the gold. Congratulations Vicious Carrot Tops on your well earned Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight!
