Season 6 Week 4

Tonight saw another strong turnout as 39 energetic participants gathered together at Vincent Massey School to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! As customary, participants received their team assignment based on the playing card they randomly selected from the deck. Participants then gathered together with their fellow teammates to introduce themselves and come up with a team name. After a few minutes of bonding, team names were submitted and the quest for GOLD began with the first of 20 round robin match ups.

Each team played 10 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs. GoldBusters grabbed top spot with a solid 8-2 performance followed by Clockwork Green (6-4), No Glove No Love (4-6) and last but not least Blazing Blueberries at 2-8.

In the semi-finals, the top ranked Gold Busters made short work of the lowly Blueberries sweeping them in 2 straight games while No Glove No Love bounced back from their series opening loss to defeat Clockwork Green 2 games to 1.

In the medal round, both series required thrilling tie breakers to determine a winner. Clockwork Green grabbed game 1 as they had done in the previous round but once again failed to seal the deal, eventually losing the bronze to the Blazing Blueberries 2-1. In other action, a wild sudden death overtime session was required before a winner could be crowned. Unfortunately for GoldBusters, just moments into the action a line violation would cost them the gold and hand No Glove No Love the championship. Congratulations No Glove No Love on your well earned Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight!
