Season 6 Week 16

Another great group of enthusiastic COC’ers gathered together at Vincent Massey Junior High School this evening to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! As customary, participants received their team assignment based on the playing card they randomly selected from the deck. Individuals then gathered together with their fellow teammates to introduce themselves and come up with a team name. After a few minutes of team bonding, team names were submitted and the quest for GOLD began with the first of 20 round robin match ups.

Each team played 10 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs. Dodging Under The Influence lead the way with a solid 7-3 performance followed closely by the Grassholes (6-4) and the Big Bad Wolves at 5-4-1. Last but not least, Priceless stumbled into the playoffs with a less than stellar 1-8-1 result.

In the semi-finals, both series required exciting tie breakers to determine a winner. Top ranked Dodging Under The Influence advanced to the gold after narrowly escaping being upset by a never say die Priceless squad. Meanwhile, in other action, the Grassholes outlasted the Big Bad Wolves to earn a spot in the championship final.

In the medal round, both series went the distance yet again as all four teams battled hard for victory. Priceless finally found their mojo winning 2 of 3 over the Big Bad Wolves to steal the bronze while Dodging Under The Influence defeated the Grassholes to capture the gold! Congratulations Dodging Under The Influence on your well earned Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight!
