Sat, Mar 18 2006 - Wildlife Rehab Volunteer Info Session 2:30PM (View Original Event Details)
|
An excellent session today. Aurora made her "debut" with us today as the CWRS' new education owl (she's a snowy) - she'll be providing some relief to Oberon (the great horned) since he's been getting busier and busier with presentations to schools, scout groups, etc.
We heard about the operation of the CWRS, and learned about all kinds of volunteering opportunities. Then they showed us a brief video of some of the animals that they've had at the facility, including some news footage. Lastly, the tour, including more discussion about the animals and their care in the Recovery Area.
I didn't let Steph and Cheryl take "official" spots on the info session because Steph has moved to Edmonton, and Cheryl is moving away as well, but they joined in at the end, and after all the excitement died down, we were each able to take a turn holding Oberon.
Thanks to all who came out today. I hope you enjoyed the session and are interested in getting more involved with the CRWS.
