Our trip began bright and sunny with the mountains to the west glittering in the morning sun. We were greeted by a surprise when we arrived at the trailhead -17 and a very brisk wind. We hurried through our preparations to leave and we very happy once we made it into the trees out of the wind which was remarkably warmer. Last weekends snow covered the entire area making for some slippery conditions. Luckily half of the group opted for snowshoes so they broke the trail for the rest of us. Our pace was slower than normal arriving at Grass Pass in just under 2 hours. We found a nice sunny spot for lunch on our way to the Bull Creek hills after which we climbed a portion of the hill. A stop at the Boundary pine completed our trip.
