Sat, May 9 2015 - Powderface Ridge via. Powderface Creek Trail (View Original Event Details)
|
A mix of sun and clouds was in the forecast and it sure was. Our day started out cool from the carpool but quickly warmed up as we headed to Bragg Creek. Temperatures stayed cool as we made our way up the Powderface Creek trail with the sun blocked mostly by the hills around us. As we made our way to the Prairie Creek connector the sun popped out warming the group prompting clothing adjustments. Snow is still quite low down on the trail as we saw as we made our way towards the first of a series of big uphill climbs. The pass is pretty well snow free where we took our break and some ate lunch. The trail to the ridge is snow covered and deep in many places but we made it to the ridge despite the challenges. A beautiful warm spring day in the foothills - remember sunscreen next time!
