Season 7 Week 14
A special Monday night edition of COC dodge ball drew a small but enthusiastic crowd of 22 individuals, each eager to compete for the most coveted prize in all of COC sports, the Dodge Ball Cup and vie for the right to have their name forever engraved on the infamous, Dodge Ball Wall of Fame! Normally participants would receive their team assignment based on the playing card they randomly selected from the deck but due to the unusually small group size, we did things a little differently tonight. Three captains were selected and players were quickly drafted into 3 teams instead of the usual four. The team that finished with the best record would then receive a bye while 2nd would play 3rd for the right to challenge the top seed in the gold medal final.
Each team played 14 times to determine their seeding for the playoffs. Rage was unstoppable racking up an impressive 12 wins and a tie in the round robin while D.U.I. finished at 6-7-1 and the lowly Blueberries at 2-12.
In the semi-finals, the Blueberries put up an impressive fight but had to settle for bronze after a devastating tie breaker loss to a more determined D.U.I. squad.
The gold medal final also featured an exciting tie breaker match but this time it didn't go D.U.I.'s way as top seeded Rage went on to capture the gold 2-1. Congratulations Rage on your very impressive Dodge Ball Cup victory tonight and outstanding 14-2-1 tournament record!
