Everything one would wish for on a day hiking in the mountains, we were granted today for our hike to North Molar Pass in Banff National Park along the Icefield Parkway. The drive to and from was uneventful with little traffic, smooth sailing and no delays at all. The weather was ideal consisting of sun, a few pretty clouds, a slight breeze and a perfect temperature for hiking the entire day. The wildflowers were at their peak, which meant we spent loads of time in the meadow before ascending to our main destination of North Molar Pass. We enjoyed a lengthy lunch break which involved refueling, admiring the view down towards Fish Lakes and then the best part of all, letting our second childhood sneak out and enjoying the inviting untouched snow slope. For the return trip we veered off trail and descended down to the creek, following it for a distance. Still wanting more before heading into the trees, we added even more elevation gain and ascended to a ridge, exploring it to the far end before dropping down back to the trail for the final seven kilometers back to the trail head.

Thank you everyone for joining me today. Your adventurous and fulfilled attitudes made the day! Thank you to Jean and Racquel for being our drivers.

Hope to hike will you again soon!
