Today's hike was a first for all of us so it was great fun discovering as a group the incredible beauty Burstall Pass has to offer. It was definitely one of the more scenic hikes I've experienced in relation to the amount of effort required to complete it. The first 3 of the 7.5km can easily be biked saving you plenty of energy to explore beyond the pass if you so desire. Being a weekday the trail was much quieter than usual, which is always a plus. We probably crossed paths with maybe 2 dozen people at most and only a few were at the pass during our lunch break. The views were simply amazing and it was interesting to note the sign at the pass indicating the border of Banff National Park and Peter Lougheed Park.

On the way back, the water levels of the stream channels running throughout the gorgeous lower meadow had risen enough to cause several of us to change into our sandals before proceeding. It actually turned out to be quite the adventure not to mention very refreshing and fun! Including a full hour at the pass, it took us about 5.5 hours to complete today's hike. The phenomenal weather and fantastic company made the day even more incredible.

Thanks for coming everyone, have a great long weekend!
