Write Up:
We were afforded a wonderfully unusual day weather-wise for our entire Junction Hill Loop hike. It began with a rainbow as we ascended and it appeared again while we were at the true summit. Rays shone down through the clouds the whole time. While there was blue sky above us, we did receive spitting rain that came at an angle and we think it was brought to us at Highwood House from the Highwood Pass via the very strong winds. We were lucky not to need microspikes nor gaiters. The trail was clear and dry. Oh but there was wind! Oh boy there sure was! Our summit visit was not long, we nestled in the trees for lunch, we hunkered down close to the ground at times and we even flew freely along the wide open meadows. It’s mid November with summer like trail conditions. How fortunate are we!

Thank you to Julie and Randy for being our drivers today. Thank you everyone for joining in on making this a fine day in our mountain playground. I hope to hit the trails with you again.
