When we set out early this morning, we weren't sure the river would be crossable or if we would be able to accomplish our goal of hiking to Forgetmenot Ridge. We had a Plan B prepared if the Little Elbow River was flowing too high or fast, but luck was on our side and it turned out we were able to safely cross the river. And what an incredible day we had! The weather was perfect and the group was fun and full of energy. After crossing the bitingly chilly river and then a gruelling few km climb over loose rock, we made it to the ridge which just went on and on and on. It did get quite windy at times, but if ever the wind died down, we immediately felt the heat of the sun. We hit 3 separate summits, had 2 lunches, and enjoyed view upon view on this fabulous day, covering approximately 20km and 950m elevation gain. It doesn't get much better than this. What an amazing day was had with a fun group of hikers. Thank you Leena and Adrian for driving today. And thank you all for joining me in my 3rd training hike and for having a mini ceremony to welcome me as an official COC coordinator!
