Write Up:A smoky haze hung over our day but that didn’t dampen our spirits. We enjoyed not having the
typical wind for this area nor rain that was forecasted. The trail was busy with exiting
backpackers so it was not crowded for our visit. We did the short easy scramble to the perch
above the Upper Tombstone Lake where conditions were ideal so we stayed for an hour long
visit. After lunch we checked out the avalanche impact pool, circled around the Upper Lake
then dropped by the Lower Lake for a view. We took a break at the Tombstone Campground and
did a few short detours off the trail on the hike back. Thank you Mick and Randy for being our
drivers. Thank you everyone for joining in on this day and I hope to share the trails with you
