COC spirit triumphed once again! Heavy rain forecast for today did nothing to deter or dampen the enthusiasm of "The Soggy Bottom Girls." (ok, some might not appreciate the title, so I aplogize - tongue in cheek) ;) We signed in under plastic and then set forth clad in rain gear for what was to be a fantastic rainy day hike! The Elbow River is high but we had no problems following the river pathways.
First stop at Reader Rock Gardens: Wow - how lovely! We dawdled our way along a maze of pathways and flower gardens, found lots of great "sittin spots" and a cafe that we all agreed is a definite club must-do sometime soon. From there we walked past several cemeteries and a residential area before decending into Stanley Park, and then followed the river pathway back to the Talisman. The rain was light most of the way and we were all glad for the opportunity to get out and enjoy. We finished up with warm drinks, snacks and/or lunch at the Talisman - they have some terrific nutritious and affordable food kiosk choices. What a terrific outing today with a great group!
