Thu, Oct 19 2006 - Dinner - Pfanntastic Pannenkoek Haus (Dutch Pancakes) (View Original Event Details)
|
Well, the night started with a bit of a chill (& I'm not referring to the weather). That is, our waitress scolded me for not mentioning separate bills when placing the reservation, scowled when we moved some tables together (versus sitting in our "assigned" booths), and snipped that we should not expect our food to arrive together. But being the easy-going folks that we are, we soon forgot her "bad day" manners (until closing time).
The people who arrived punctually got to sit at the long table and the less punctual got banished to the corner booth (plus had to wait longer to order & get their food).
Some stuff overheard during dinner:
"Who kicked me?"
"We'll go to Cuba to celebrate your birthday."
"Oh, I didn't mean to kick you...again."
"So you are throwing a housewarming party when you get your house?"
"That's a camera phone?"
"Guess who took the photo for the naked hiker?"
"Ahh, he was French."
"Are you from Montreal?"
"Once, I scored all my laser tag points off a five-year-old."
"He was in love with a goat!?!"
"Are they trying to get us to leave by flicking the lights on and off?"
"Subtle, eh?"
While we did take a few photos, we unfortunately did not get a photo of the desserts that some people managed to fit in :( And Rod almost left without tasting the Bernard Callebaut chocolate cup filled with orange liqueur! Tsk, tsk.

The Pfanntastic Pannenkoek Haus is a great place for a healthy appetite. The food was fantastic and the company and conversation even better. Never mind the chat about Coronation Street at the kid’s table, and the camera shy organizer.
