What a fantastic day!! This was my tenth-ever x-c ski trip (and I'm not a downhill skier, so pretty much my tenth-ever ski, period). It was my first trip under my new label of "novice/intermediate" (instead of "beginner/flailer") and it was awesome. We set out from the Info Center along the wonderfully groomed and trackset Meadow, stayed right to stay on Meadow and then at Elkwood Parking got onto Wheeler trail which was not groomed or track-set. Wheeler felt great - the soft snow under the feet instead of the rigid trackset, but it was a lot more work, too, so when we returned the same way we went out, I was pretty happy to see Meadow's perfect tracks. We only did about 11 km today because of the extra work involved with doing Wheeler, but I'm still happy with the distance and thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was fantastic to finally share an event with Sibel again, and I must admit, a huge thrill to finally meet the great Kheang (who's just as awesome as everyone says he is).
