What fun!!! Groups had to photograph 5 scavenger hunt items, then return within 15 minutes for team challenges. After each challenge, another checklist of 5 items was handed out. By 4:00, the group completed 25 checklist items and competed in 5 challenges (frisbee/horseshoes, potato sack race, 3-legged race, "chubby bunny" and blindfolded minesweeper). Competition was fierce but friendly!
Memorable moments: Ian the pogo stick in the potato sack, the kids wiping out in the potato sack and 3-legged race, Alejandro as Marc Anthony, Marta's MEC underwear (she realized later she was wearing MEC sunglasses), Roy (or Roger?) stuffing 18 marshmallows in his mouth....
In the end, the "Killer Kanaries" (Deb, Sonya, Andrea N, Erin, Alejandro & Marjolein) took first prize with 1990 points. Ian, Corinne, Sarka, Anita, Veronique and Sandra came in 2nd place with 1945 points. Victor, Andrea R, Brian, Phil, Kathy and Gloria got 3rd place with 1905 points. Lynda, Roy, Jasna, Roger, Alex and Chris took 4th place. Haysn, Oliver, Marta, Peter, Stan and Derek came in 5th with 1690 points. Emilia, Debbie, Marcel, Sandee, Carine and Jenny B were a close 6th with 1675 points. The "Killer Kanaries" also took home "best team spirit" prizes for their yellow t-shirts and banner. Members of other teams were recognized for participating in "Chubby Bunny" and just being a lot of fun to compete with!!
Next time I will bring a megaphone so people can hear the instructions better... remember, COUNT the marshmallows! COUNT the balloons! ; ) Perhaps different items to collect for the minesweeper game too.... when the wind caught those balloons, it was mayhem!
A big thank you to ALL for playing!! Thank you also to everyone who helped set up and clean up, especially Oliver, Ian (first on the scene!), Gloria, Victor, Jenny B, Chris & Marta!!
We must have a rematch later this summer! : ) Karen
Thanks for a great day ~ we really enjoyed ourselves. Gloria (& Victor)
Thanks for organizing this event and for all of the hard work that was obviously involved in the preparation. It was great fun and you did an awesome job. Loved the creative ideas you came up with for photos. Well done! Corinne

Thanks for organizing this event!! BBQ was great and scavenger hunt was tons of fun!! Great time. Carine
Thank YOU for all the work you put into organizing the hunt/race today. I know you put in a lot of thought and effort and I, for one, appreciate it. It was fun, well organized and creative. And I've just sent in my photos to the COC guys. I look forward to seeing everyone else's. Lynda
Thanks again Karen for a great afternoon. That was an organizational challenge - one you pulled off very, very nicely. Sandra
Although I chose not to participate in the Scavenger Hunt portion of the BAR-B-Q, I was truly amazed at the amount of work/organization that went into the Hunt and well as the Bar-B-Q. Want to pass on my APPRECIATION to the three of you who so proudly and boldly demonstrated your commitment to the club and building our COC community! Sincerely, Liane
