Write Up:Nine of us met Sunday morning for the Bowmont Park urban hike. The weather was fantastic - sunny and warm, but not hot. We started out from the East end and made excellent time getting to the turnoff to the waterfalls (near Silver Springs). Rhonda and Marj set a vigorous pace, so we had a good workout. The waterfall was neat - not breathtaking like ones you find in the mountains, but very interesting and worth the walk down. From there we climbed to the ridge and got a fantastic view of the river in both directions. We walked along the ridge for awhile, and then headed back. Part of the way we were able to walk along the river, and were back to the cars by 11:00 am. A great hike and a super group.
