A COWBOY TALE
It was a dark and foggy morning. The thick unyielding clouds hung low in the sky. It did not look good for our intrepid posse of COC trailriders. Undaunted by malevolent skies we took to the rugged foothills in pursuit of epic cowboy adventures.
OK, OK, then the skies cleared and we just had a nice time riding. Griffin Valley covers 8000 acres and is set in the rolling foothills with fantastic views. Nary a car or highrise in sight. We ambled in a leisurely way through aspen woodlands and enjoyed a beautiful fall day. Then we got a taste for some real wild stuff when our guides let us trot for about 30 seconds (yee-hah!). I can make no claim to being a real cowboy as I (and some other fellow COC geeks) wore the safety helmets provided by the ranch.
Most of us hadn’t ridden in a long while and I don’t know about the rest of the posse but my derriere is still sore. After a long grueling day on the trail we HAD to stop in Cochrane at McKays for ice cream which was yummy. All in all, a great day!
