It must have been a busy shopping day in Calgary - parking lots full of last minute shoppers. Malls overcrowded with hundreds of people. Drivers stuck in parking lots unable to move.

...but who really knows.

The snowshoeing trip was awesome! We were a group of eleven - most of us were at the carpool right at 7:15 this morning. The drive out was easy. No one was at the Chester Lake parking lot so we had the whole trail to ourselves.

A few highlights...seeing two large groups of elk crossing Highway 40. Arriving upon the first meadow to find the snow untouched, layers of powder (thanks to the Dec 17th snowstorm), sunshine, people frolicking in the snow, newbies out for the first time on snowshoes, Jeff enjoying his new snowshoes - an early Christmas present, having everyone together at the Elephant Rocks for lunch, and running down the trails on the return of our trip.

Thanks to all who came out, see you again another time.
