Write Up:Wow - this event went from over 30 people signed up to only 11 of us brave souls that met at 6:45 am on a very cold Calgary New Year's morning. Everyone (but the enthusiastic coordinator) was questioning whether they should still be in bed. Anyway - by the time we reached Banff the temperature had dropped to -19C - and when we reached Lake Louise it had reached a balmy -25C. We just went for it. And boy - we ended up having a fabulous day. We had brilliant sunshine, great snow, temperatures that somehow rose to almost 0C (how did that happen?), great company, and most of all great skiing. And no crowds. We almost had the hill all to ourselves.
Anyway - thank you to everyone that attended and for those of you that missed out - don't worry - there will be lots more great skiing to come. Thanks to the 11 brave souls for making the 1st day of 2008 unforgettable. Cheers. Beth
