Write Up:
Another fantastic day in the mountains on a great snowshoe trail with great people! As we approached the Smith Dorrien turnoff it soon became clear that the overnight snowfall described by Environment Canada as "trace" was clearly under-estimated. Who writes up these weather forecasts anyway? Undaunted, all cars plowed through about 10-15cm of fresh snow on a "one-track" trail along the road not yet plowed, and all arrived safely at the Chester Lake trailhead. We frollicked in TONS of beautiful fresh snow and didn't event notice the elevation gain (right?). Lunch at the lake was uneventful but on the return we were engulfed by a sudden snowstorm and drop in temps which thankfully was very short-lived. Thankfully also, by our return the road had been plowed. All in all was a wonderful day and thank you to Ed for agreeing to co-coordinate with me as I've never snowshoed this trail before. Thanks also to Conan for your input and suggestions :)

Note to self for the next time: Winter travel time is best set for 2hrs min each way to the Chester Lake trailhead due to uncertain road conditions, and slow pace for me is a solid 4 hours to complete this circuit.
