Sat, Jul 19 2008 - Picklejar Lakes - slow pace (View Original Event Details)
|
We could not have gotten a better day weather-wise! Perfect cool temps in the morning for the elevation gain part. I love this hike - one of my favorites! Except for the part about elevation gain. The memory of beautiful views and wildflowers has a way of blotting out memories about the up-part ;)
The hills were indeed alive .... with the sound of Lana's singing :)
Chris tested out the theory about catching fish being as easy as pulling pickles out of a jar. He's happy to report that it is indeed almost that easy.
We stumbled upon the campsite of a couple of apparently inexperienced campers who had left wieners and a pot with cooking grease unattended in their campsite.
Some finished up the day enjoying refreshments at Kananaskis Village. Our vehicle spotted a lovely (and large) cinnamon grizzly poking around alongside the hwy.
It was a really great day with a fantastic group! See you again soon :)
