Not another perfect day!! The weather was hot and sunny, the trail was dry and the lake was calm. Five of us set out this morning to hike the Upper Kananaskis Lake Circuit and we shared some laughs and great conversation along the way. This was Linda’s first hike with the COC and, other than Dominique, the rest of us had not hiked this trail before.
What a pleasant surprise. Upper Kananaskis Lake Circuit has a good mix of trail conditions and views. We started out in the forest and, by the end, we had hiked across bolder fields, through sections of trail lined by lush vegetation, over streams, along water falls and over the dam. We took a long lunch at the “point” located in the NW corner of the lake where Dominique shared her delicious home made cookies. The elevation gain along this trail is not significant but the 16 km loop gave us a good workout.
