Write Up:
Pigeon Mountain was awesome! Nine of us set out this morning in sunny, +-10 degree weather. As we left the tree line behind, rain clouds began to close in fast from the west. For a minute, we contemplated aborting our hike, but six of us decided instead to make a break for the summit. While three sought shelter and broke for lunch, the six of us donned our rain gear and hiked on. The rain storm moved in quickly in the form of mist and fog, blanketing us as we approached the summit. Upon reaching our goal, we paused long enough to get a photo and then headed back through the wet mist.
By the time we descended below the tree line, the sun was back out.
