We were only about 20 minutes into the hike when we came upon a HUGE adult grizzly bear in front of us on the single track trail in. He was about 18 feet away from us & he/she was more curious then anything else of who we were and looked at us and sniffed us from afar. Non-aggressive behavior. We made our presence known and immediately headed back to the parking lot. At the trailhead we left a note for future hikers that day that we had spotted a grizzly. This wildlife sighting has also has been reported to 403-591-7755 and also a posting has been sent to "TRAILEX". We ended up doing another hike close by-Rae Glacier and explored the area. In all a very nice hike/day with great company. Thank you
