WOOOO HOOOO! Great ride, fun ride, interesting weather. We had a sunny, rainy, log-sawing, bush-whacking, rocky, sandy, hilly, loggy hoot out on single-track, double-track, roads, bridges you name it. A sincere thanks to all you all-weather riders who made it out and didn't let the threat of some unsettled weather hold you back.
As there were a number of new riders, we did a little bit of everything, hopefully at a pace you all could live with. A special Thanks and welcome to the MTB subset to Jamie, Dave S, Carmen S, Lady Di, Grant P, Jan L, Ivan, Ali and Valerie. And thanks to Mike & Kayla for your assistance with the trip.
The final stats were 14.7km and probably about 200m of total cumulative elevation gain in 3h 20min (~4 km/h average including the lunch stop).
Sorry about the bushwhacking, but it is something you may have to contend with on occasion as was the dead-fall, rocks, rain, cow poop, squirrels, etc. so I hope you all feel the experience is ultimately pleasurable or at least worthwhile in your pursuit of MTB Zen.
If anyone wants a GPX file of the GPS data so you can see the trip in GoogleEarth or some such program, just drop me a line at gord@trailpeak.com
