Write Up:
The first and most important thing I have to say about this event is that "COC spirit reigns supreme!" You all are amazing - I'm so proud of the people who belong to this club - and I'm soooo grateful that you all came out today despite several challenges!

People using the pathways along the route today commented positively about our presence and thanked us for our efforts. We saw the pile of trash hauled out of this small area and could see for ourselves the positive impact of our efforts.

I am super-disappointed about the value City of Calgary Parks placed on our time that they wouldn't allow us to use the washrooms at the CAOC building during our volunteer event. Many people who attended this volunteer event today used public transit - approx 1 hour each way. Combine that with 2 hours of volunteer time = 4 hours without a washroom. Most businesses in the area do not supply washrooms for public use and do not want non-customers stopping in to use their washrooms. I would have liked to see greater appreciation shown by the city parks dept for our volunteer's time - at least by supplying us with washroom facilities, considering there is a building available at 10 St, our meeting place. Booooo City of Calgary Parks Dept! For that I'm not sure that it is fair to our members to continue this event. However, our members definitely see the benefit of this event and want to see it continue. As well, public users of the pathways acknowledged and expressed appreciation for our presence today.
