7 days and 6 nights! Woohoo!

What a great trip!
We saw and experienced just about everything the West Coast of Vancouver Island had to offer. Brilliant sunshine, the infamous rain, the crashing waves at Dare Point, lots of whales, bald eagles catching fish from the sea, tired legs, fantastic views, we made new friends along the way and more importantly the group are still friends :)

Number of campsites stayed at - 6

Day 1: Gordon River trailhead to Thrasher Cove, 6km to campsite, 5 hrs in
Day 2: Camper Bay, Group 1 via Owen Point, 7km, 6 hrs, Group 2 via inland route, 9 km, 8 hrs
Day 3: Walbran Creek, 9 km, 7 hrs
Day 4: Cribs Creek, 12kms, 6 hrs
Day 5: Tsusiat Falls, 17km, 9 hrs
Day 6: Michigan Creek, 14km, 6 hrs
Day 7: Pachena Bay Trail Head, 12 km, 4 hrs

Number of slugs licked - 0 (eew)

Number of small crabs licked - 2 (Rob, bravo!)

Number of crabs eaten at Nitinat Narrows - 4

Number of double orders at Chez Moniques - Eric (2 burgers)

Number of WCT turtles - 2 (Amin slipped on tree root, Ben broke boardwalk)

Number of spreadeagles - 1 (Ben - hanging for dear life with one hand off a 6 foot drop from a slippery boadwalk, yikes but he managed to hang on to his walking stick with his other hand!)

Number of trail cliff slides - 1 (Ben - sank up to his waist with just bushes supporting his weight off a cliff after the trail edge gave way, sheesh.....)

Number of bruises clambering over the super slippery boulders around Owen Point - Too Many to List ( Jamie, Gwen, Amin, Mohsen, Eric)

Number of days of rain - Tues overnight, Wed all day, Thurs morning, Sat late morning (after we finished!)

Number of time whales spotted: Camper Bay - Killer Whales, Bonilla Point - Grey Whales, could hear them blow, Michigan Creek - Grey Whales

Amount of food eaten at Victoria after the hike - too much :P
