Sat, Nov 15 2008 - Windy Point Ridge loop (View Original Event Details)
|
The trail was free of snow, the sun shone periodically and, contrary to the name, there was no wind, so it was great day to be out.
Windy Point Ridge is an unmaintained trail. The small parking lot is on the left 4.3 km from the winter gate at Sandy McNabb. We started uphill through an opening in the fence a little west of the parking spot. The hike starts directly into the steep climb and soon we had a panoramic view. We continued past the summit for another 2 or 3 km on the ridge, enjoying views on both sides.
For the return, we retraced our steps half way back or so before dropping down to loop back on the Windy Point Trail.
Thank you to all for this great fall hike. Laura L
