Week 30!

A big crowd of 37 eager COC’ers turned up for their weekly fix of dodge ball tonight. As usual everyone randomly selected cards to determine their team placement, names were chosen and play began soon afterwards. Each team played 9 times during the round robin before being seeded for the playoff rounds. The Stingers finished in first dominating the round robin with an impressive 8-0-1. The remaining 3 teams all finished with 3 wins a piece with 2nd place honours going to Dodging Ducks who picked up a tie as well to give them a 3-5-1. Squirrel Nut Zippers (3-6-0) got the nod for 3rd place due to their winning record against 4th place Bust Loose (3-6-0).

.In the semi-finals, the Squirrels and Ducks put on an exciting show but unfortunately for the Squirrels, it was the Ducks who advanced to the gold medal series with a 2-1 series victory. In the other semi-final an over confident Stingers team found themselves on the outside looking in after being swept by last place Bust Loose!

In the medal round, a very unhappy Stingers team took out their frustrations on a bunch of helpless Squirrels, defeating them easily in 2 straight to capture the bronze. In the gold medal series, the Ducks eventually got past Bust Loose in 3 games and were awarded a place on the Dodge Ball Cup. Congratulations Dodging Ducks on your gold medal victory!!
