Sun, May 10 2009 - Johnston Canyon and the Inkpots (View Original Event Details)
|
What a beautiful shoulder season hike. Even with a few tourists around, Johnston Canyon is impressive. Continuing on to the Inkpots is not much extra work and is worth it for the views of the Johnston Creek valley, the Inkpots and the views of the mountains.
The trail to the Upper Falls was snow free. The trail to the Inkpots had slushy snow, and was slippery enough that on the way back we donned our Icers.
A few dark clouds threatened, but we spent most of the day in the sun.
It was a great outing with sociable people. Laura L
