This adventurous outing takes you through forest, meadows, and a rocky ridge. At the end of the hike to Burstall Pass we'll see this little mountain which is a good easy scramble. We will ascend the southeast ridge of Snow Peak. The ridge is a steep off trail hike, and is classed as a (very) EASY scramble(this is only rated difficult because of the distance and elevation).

From the summit you have an excellent view of the west side of Mount Birdwood and the route on Mount Smuts. Mount Assinaboine is to the north-west. Note that the trail up to Burstall Pass does pass through the Burstall Lakes which can by marshy and wet so feel free to bring sandals or something similar to cross should there be a wet crossing on the trail. ***This peak is ideal for hikers looking for a little more challenge and scramblers looking for a non-technical ascent.***

PACE:Please note that this is not a speed demon's hike(getting to the top in record time) nor is it for very slowpokes, we will be hiking at a casual pace. If you're not sure about a hike, please always feel free to contact the coordinator and remember to always hike within your ability in order to be able to keep up with the group. If you have not hiked Before or Recently hiked with 650M+, it is highly recommended that you start with lower elevations and build up from there. If you're use to "Slowpoke Pace Hikes" then this hike is not for you-the pace will be too quickNO beginners please.
