Yet Another Free Movie Screening: Defendor (2/17/2010)

The movie is being screened at The Uptown Cinema on 8th Ave SW.
As they have given out more passes than there are seats, we need to be there early to ensure we have seating for everyone. Meeting time is at 5.45pm, be on time or else you might miss out on a seat, there will a long lineup to get in. Look for me in the line up, I'll should be wearing a red ball cap.

Please firm up your RSVP before the cut off date. I was left hanging with some unused passes at the last screening because people cancelled at the last minute and there were a bunch of people on the waitlist wanting to go who could not. Last minute withdrawals after the cut off WILL RESULT IN A NO SHOW. Thanks.

Synopsis:
In DEFENDOR, reality intersects with delusion in the mind of Arthur Poppington (Woody Harrelson, Zombieland), a regular man who adopts a superhero persona known as Defendor and combs the city streets at night in search of his arch-enemy, Captain Industry. In his attempts to combat crime and bring down this drug and weapons dealer whom he mistakenly blames for the death of his mother, Defendor ends up befriending a young prostitute, Katerina (Kat Denning, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist). Armed with unconventional weapons of mass confusion, and aided by his new friend, Defendor proves that sometimes you need to go off the beaten path – way off – to make a difference. Defendor is a Canadian comedy-drama film written and directed by Peter Stebbings. First screened at the 2009 Toronto IFF.
