Morning Hike/Backpack Conditioning (3/18/2010)

Itinerary:
A daytime, slow-ish paced conditioning option for those of us who are unable to join the after-work gang.
Meet at Crescent Road and 4th St NW - NOT at the top of the stairs.We will follow a variety of dirt and gravel paths up and down McHugh Bluffs to warm up, and then walk over to climb the stairs near the curling club a couple of times.
Strollers may be ok on the paths - I'm not sure tho so it's your call whether you want to try it or not.
Paths may be icy, slippery, muddy or snowy! Some form of ice traction is recommended!

Bring whatever amount of weight you are comfortable carrying:
Hikers, it's preferable you bring a pack similar in weight and size to what you would bring on a day hike.
Backpackers, in addition to the day pack specifications, you need to bring the kitchen sink and microwave and then some.


Required Items to Bring:
- layered clothing appropriate to weather conditions
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
- water
- warmish layered clothing
- some form of ice traction
- whatever else you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Access 12th Ave from Centre St or 4th St N.W.
Turn south onto 3rd St NW
Turn West on Crescent Road til you get to 4th St N.W. Park there and meet at the top of the hill.
Free 2 hour parking is available all along Crescent Road.
