Itinerary:
A sleepy, remote, Indian Reservation in Northern Alberta is stirred up when one of its elders, Martin Fox, begins to question the death of Hank Williams. With the support of his community, the 75-year-old Cree man takes off on a bus for the Southern States, determined to find out the truth for himself. Accompanying him, rather reluctantly, is 17-year-old Jacob Fox (Colin Van Loon) - forced to make the trip by his grandfather (Gordon Tootoosis).

The two travelers gain something of a charming notoriety, as their quirky story is picked up in the US press. The news trickling back home provides a unifying spark to the little community, and its variety of colourful characters. Characters that include:

- The Chief; desperately running for re-election and driven by his two great loves: chicken wings and being chief.

- The Girl; Sarah Fox (Stacy Da Silva), sister to Jacob - preparing for her Grade 12 graduation. Trying to make sense of life - or at least find a grad date.

- The Teacher and The Social Worker; the former genuinely wants to help - the latter genuinely wants a transfer.

- The Boy; Huey (Bernard Starlight), the town-clown, doing his best to sell all the recycled firewood he's "borrowed" from the community campground.

- And Moosem and Kookem; (the grandparents) doing their best to somehow hold it all together.

Hank Williams First Nations is good-hearted movie about a good-hearted people - sprinkled with snowmobiles, old dogs and moose-meat...Oh yes, and good country music.
