Come and celebrate Canada Day in style! We will hike to an incredibly scenic viewpoint in the Larch Valley area where we will settle down and have a Canada Day Picnic. Please bring one food item to share. Enough for around 4-6 people.

Some food ideas:
Cheese/Crackers
Fruit (pre-cut)
Veggies (pre-cut)
Your Favorite Ethnic 'finger food'
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries (yummm!)

The possibilities are endless. There are many great markets in town (such as Sunterra) if you would rather pick something up. Just keep in mind that we must leave no trace of our visit so foods that are not messy and that will keep well are best. I will try to arrange to have a cooler for each vehicle . Small icepacks work well for to keep things cool on the trail if necessary.

This hike is best suited to intermediate hikers as we will go at a moderate pace. While this hike is spectacular on its own, please do not sign up unless you are willing to fully participate in the picnic.

Since this event requires a fair amount of advance preparation, please do not sign up unless you are sure that you can attend. Last minute cancellations are very difficult to fill.

Trail Conditions Update: Trail conditions for the Larch Valley area are improving daily with warmer temperatures. Expect the lower slopes to be mostly dry while the upper slopes to have a few snow patches.
