Itinerary:
It almost snowed in Calgary last night so yes I am Jonesing! This will kick off what I'm sure is to be another fabulous ski season. They typically have WaWa, Standish + Angel open. And we can probably ski the new Strawberry lift that exits a bit higher. They often have early season powder. We usually have a fun group so it is very social. We will all ski together and eat together. If you are a bit rusty don't worry - no one will get left behind. We will do mostly blues and if we do some blacks there is usually an option to ski a blue and meet us in the liftline. Come out and have a blast.
  • Skiing/Snowboarding activities have inherent risks involved. Rental packages now include helmets.
  • Check the terrain suitable for you: http://skibanff.com/the_mountain/t errain.php
  • FYI, day tickets costs $77, basic rental package costs $40 payable at the resort (not to me).
  • For Apres-ski outing we will meet at 3:30 PM at the Creek Side Pub at the gondola base.
  • This is a group event, so those who cannot wait for all to ride to the village together, meet at noon, and meet at 3:30 PM, please sign up for another event.
  • If you want to avoid further line ups, buy your tickets online now (10-day lead time)
You need to be able to handle blue runs.

We will leave the carpool at 7:00 so as to arrive at the top of the Gondola by 9:00.

We will try to meet up for lunch at noon at Trappers pub

If you would like to drive please indicate in the notes section how many people including gear you can take in your car, as well as what type of vehicle you will be driving. Try to fill-up your gas tank as well so there will be no more pit stops required from Shouldice.

This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle.
